At approximately 9:30 pm, on May 19, 2023 Saskatoon Police received a report of a man brandishing a weapon and threating people in the area. Upon arrival, patrol officers located the male in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. The man was armed with metal pipe. When the man approached police aggressively with the pipe, a conducted energy weapon was deployed and the man was taken into custody. He was assessed at the scene as a precaution by Medavie Health Services.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
