One Charged - ICE Investigation

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit in conjunction with the Regina Police Service VICE Unit has charged a Regina man with a child exploitation offence.

On June 20th, 2023, the Saskatchewan ICE Unit commenced an online investigation utilizing a number of social media platforms.

As a result of the investigation 21-year-old Marx Iverson Ybanez of Regina was charged on June 21, 2023.

He has been charged with:

One count - Agreement to Commit Sexual Assault on a Person Under the Age of 18 contrary to section 172.2(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

Ybanez was remanded in custody until his next court appearance June 28th, 2023 at 9:30 am in Regina Provincial Court.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
