An intoxicated woman causing a disturbance was bit by a police service dog (PSD) this morning after she opened the door of a police canine vehicle.
On June 28, 2023 at around 1:20 a.m., police were called to the area of 19th Street West and Avenue W South for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arriving to the area, officers observed a woman causing a disturbance in the street. Immediately, the woman approached a police canine vehicle and opened the rear door; the PSD inside engaged the woman causing injuries consistent with a dog bite. She was assessed by paramedics for her non-life-threatening injuries and later transported to Detention.
The 20-year-old Saskatoon woman has been charged with public intoxication as a result.
