A man was arrested after a citizen observed him placing a firearm into a duffle bag in public yesterday evening.

On June 27, 2023 at around 8:30 p.m., an officer was approached by a citizen in the 900 block of 22nd Street West who reported to have observed a man placing a firearm into a duffle bag a short distance away. The man was located nearby where he was arrested without incident. He was found to be in possession of several rounds of assorted ammunition, two loaded magazines, an imitation firearm, and a large hunting knife; all items were seized.

As a result, the 36-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace (x2), and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon (x2).
