UPDATE: Arrests - Shooting Investigation - 20th Street West & Avenue Q South

Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit have concluded investigation into the 2022 shooting of a 15-year-old female with the arrests of two men.

On July 12, 2023, SPS investigators attended to a correctional facility in Prince Albert to effect the arrest of a 34-year-old man; he was remanded on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest.

On July 19, 2023, the Prince Albert RCMP in conjunction with the Saskatchewan RCMP Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team located a 28-year-old man wanted on warrant in relation to this shooting; he was arrested without incident.

As a result, both men have been charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder, unlawful transport of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of a firearm without a license, and unlawfully occupying a motor vehicle in which a firearm was present. The 34-year-old is also charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited.

The Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit is requesting assistance regarding a shooting that occurred earlier this month.

On November 18th, 2022, at around 1:30 a.m., a 15-year-old girl was shot while walking with her family, near the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue Q South. A white car, with multiple people inside, pulled up and one of the occupants shot at the victim. The vehicle then fled westbound on 20th Street. Photos of the suspect vehicle are attached for distribution. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The SPS Serious Assault Unit continues to investigate and is requesting anyone with information to contact 306-975-8300 or anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Anyone with video surveillance of the area is asked to check footage from that date and time.
