A woman was arrested and is facing charges after fleeing from police earlier this morning.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., August 15, 2023, patrol officers observed a vehicle pull up to a four-way stop at the intersection of 29th Street West and Avenue H North. After having seen the patrol vehicle, the suspect vehicle did not advance through the intersection, instead reversing in the direction it had come from. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop after witnessing this behaviour, however the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Tire deflation devices were successfully deployed and the vehicle came to a stop after striking a parked vehicle near 23rd Street West and Vancouver Avenue.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene and is charged with Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, and Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime.
