The Collision Analyst Unit is continuing to investigate a serious collision that occurred yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. on August 31, 2023, police responded to the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Queen Street for a report of a serious collision involving three vehicles. An 89-year-old male passenger in one of the involved vehicles had sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by paramedics and later pronounced deceased. Next of kin notifications have been completed and police will not be releasing the victim’s name. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
Traffic restrictions that were in place in the area have since been removed; police thank members of the motoring public for their accommodation of the closure.
Police are attending to a collision involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Queen Street. The Collision Analyst Unit is investigating. Traffic is being heavily restricted and members of the motoring public are advised to find an alternate route through the area.
