One man has been arrested after sexually assaulting a youth in a hospital washroom yesterday.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on October 11, 2023, police were called to the 100 block of Hospital Drive for a report of a sexual assault that had just occurred. The victim, a 14-year-old girl, reported to hospital security that an unknown man had threatened her with a weapon before taking her to a washroom where he unlawfully confined and sexually assaulted her. Prior to police arrival, U of S Protective Services had located and detained a male suspect in relation; a search of his person did not locate any weapons.

As a result of continued investigation, the 43-year-old Black Lake, SK man was arrested into the SPS’ custody and has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, sexual interference, and unlawful confinement.
