Saskatoon Police responded to a sudden death this morning at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre.

At approximately 11:00 this morning, officers responded to the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre after receiving a report that a 34 year old male was found to be unresponsive in his cell. Medical staff attended to provide care however the male was declared deceased a short time later.

Members from the Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Section were called out to investigate, along with the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service. The cause of death is undetermined at this time however foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date and 34 year old males next of kin have been notified.

The Saskatchewan Coroner's Service will continue with their investigation.
