The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested three people in connection to a firearm incident on Thursday night.
On February 23, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., police were called to the 2300 block of 17th Street West for the report that two men had pointed a firearm at a woman. Upon arrival, police found the victim, an 18-year-old woman, and learned her car keys and cell phone had been stolen by someone known to her. When trying to get her items back, two men wearing ski masks, who were in the same vehicle as the suspect, both pointed a firearm at the victim at separate times. The suspects then fled the area.
While officers were speaking with the victim, the suspect vehicle returned to the area, and police performed a high-risk traffic stop. Two men were arrested without incident, while a third ran from the vehicle and was arrested a short distance later. A search of the vehicle recovered a .177 calibre CO2 handgun, as well as the keys to the victim’s vehicle.
An 18-year-old man is charged with Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Disguise with Intent, and Breach of Conditions. While a 14-year-old boy is charged with Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Disguise with Intent.
A 20-year-old man faces charges of Theft (x2) and Mischief.
