One woman was arrested following a report of a person armed with a firearm yesterday.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024, police responded to an address in the 200 block of Avenue D South after it was reported that a woman had pointed a firearm at another person and was now banging on the door. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the woman had retreated into a neighbouring residence; she, along with two males, were ordered out by members of the Tactical Support Unit without incident. A search warrant was later executed on the residence resulting in the seizure of a .22 calibre rifle and a paintball gun.
As a result, the 40-year-old Saskatoon woman was charged with assault with a weapon, careless handling of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm to commit an offence, and possession of a firearm without a license.
