Arrest - Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit Investigation - Melville

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a Melville man with a child exploitation offence. Members of the ICE Unit began an online investigation into child exploitation in March of 2024 and subsequently executed a search warrant at a home in Melville on April 11th, 2024.

As a result of the police investigation, 28-year-old Dillon Finnerty, was charged on April 11th, 2024 with:

  • 172.1(1)(a), luring a child to facilitate a child pornography offence

He was released from court with numerous conditions. His next court date is May 13, 2024 in Melville, SK.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet.
