A 15-year-old male has been charged following a fatal collision that occurred in April.
On April 14, 2024 at approximately 6:00 a.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision in the 4200 Block of Taylor Street East where a 16-year-old male was declared deceased at the scene.
As a result of continued investigation, the 15-year-old male driver of the vehicle has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death. The accused appeared in court earlier today.

Traffic restrictions have been lifted in the 4200 block of Taylor Street East following a single vehicle collision which resulted in the death of a 16 year old male.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 6:00 a.m., April 14, 2024. The 16 year old was declared deceased at the scene. Two other occupants of the vehicle, both 15 year old males, were transported to hospital. One had minor injuries, while the other is in what is believed to be serious condition.
Initial investigation by members of the Collision Analyst Unit shows that the vehicle, a 2008 Honda Civic, had been travelling east on Taylor Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle then struck and pole and flipped over. At this time, impairment is not believed to have been a factor.
The Collision Analyst Unit is continuing its investigation.
Saskatoon Police are investigating a collision that occurred earlier this morning in the 4200 block of Taylor Street East.
Traffic restrictions in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Taylor Street are in place as the SPS Collision Analyst Unit investigates.
