The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a man from the RM of Blucher with child exploitation offences. Members of the ICE Unit began an online investigation into child exploitation in November of 2023, and subsequently executed a search warrant at a home in the RM of Blucher on February 1st, 2024 where electronic devices were seized.
As a result of the police investigation, 59-year-old Douglas Urquhart, was charged on April 26th, 2024.
He has been charged with two counts of:
Possession of child pornography, section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.
Urquhart appeared in court and was released on numerous conditions. His next court appearance is May 14th, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Saskatoon.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
