Members of the Collision Analyst Unit are continuing to investigate a collision that resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man on Friday.
On May 10, 2024 at approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to multiple reports of a single-vehicle collision on Circle Drive North near Attridge Drive.
Upon arrival, officers observed a heavily-damaged semi-truck that had overturned and was smoking. The driver of the truck remained trapped inside and multiple civilians who had witnessed the collision were attempting to gain access to the passenger compartment. Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department arrived and extricated the driver from the semi-truck before he was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services West in life-threatening condition; he was pronounced deceased a short time later. Next of kin notifications have been completed and police will not be releasing the victim’s name.
Police wish to recognize the commendable efforts of several witnesses that stopped to render their assistance at the scene in the immediate aftermath of the collision.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing with support from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Police are currently on scene of a motor vehicle collision on Circle Drive North near the Attridge Drive overpass.
Northbound lanes and one Southbound lane are restricted and drivers are asked to find an alternate route and avoid the area completely if possible.
