Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed in a park early this morning.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. on May 16, 2024, police responded to a park along 18th Street West for a report on an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located the 30-year-old female victim in the 600 block of Wardlow Road suffering from what were believed to be several non-life-threatening stab wounds. Continued investigation found that the victim was walking with another person through the park when they were approached a group of persons believed to be unknown to them. The victim attempted to run but fell to the ground and was stabbed multiple times. The suspects then fled the area.
Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
