Saskatoon Police Major Crimes Section (MCS) the Collision Analyst Unit (CAU) the Forensic Identification Section (FIS) and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating a fatal collision that occurred Saturday morning.
On June 22, 2024 at approximately 3:12 a.m. police responded to reports of a deceased male located on Warman Road near Circle Drive. Upon further investigation, officers learned a car was travelling northbound on Warman Road when it collided with a male riding an electric scooter.
The 25-year-old operator of the scooter succumbed to his injuries.
As a result, the 38-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and is facing charges relating to fleeing the scene of an accident, operate a motor vehicle while impaired and operate a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg of alcohol causing death.
The 38-year-old driver will see a Justice of the Peace later today.
SPS Major Crimes Section as well as the Collision Analyst Unit and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate.
