Charges Laid - Firearms Offences - 21st Street West And Avenue O South / 33rd Street West

The Saskatoon Police Service arrested multiple people over the weekend relating to firearms offences.

On June 21, 2024 at around 5:20 p.m. police observed a male on a bike reach for what was believed to be a firearm in his waistband in the area of 21st Street West and Avenue O South. Officers activated their emergency lights and approached the man; however, the suspect fled on foot.

Officers were able to arrest the suspect a short distance later as he was seen attempting to throw a firearm onto a roof. Upon search of his person, he was found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.

As a result, a 25-year-old man is facing numerous firearms charges as well as two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

On June 22, 2024 at approximately 2:50 a.m. police attempted to stop a man on a bicycle after he was observed travelling in a careless manner on 33rd Street West.

The man did not cooperate with officers and fled, evading police before being arrested outside a residence in the 1300 Block of Faulkner Crescent. Upon search of his person, officers located a loaded slam gun, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

As a result, a 26-year-old man is facing numerous firearms charges, as well charges relating to evading police.
