Since 6:00 a.m. this morning, February 1, 2024, police responded to eight collisions throughout the city; fortunately, most did not result in serious injuries.
At around 8:30 a.m., police were called to the 3500 block of Diefenbaker Drive for a report of a collision between a car and a parked SUV; the 32-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the car was unable to exit the vehicle and was believed to be seriously injured. The man was assisted from the vehicle by firefighters before being treated and transported to hospital by paramedics with what were later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. The Collision Analyst Unit was called to investigate and has since cleared the scene.
All traffic restrictions relating to the earlier collisions have since been removed. Police thank members of the motoring public for their accomodation of the restrictions.
Police are responding to several collisions throughout the city this morning. As a result, traffic restrictions exist at the intersection of Adilman Drive and Wanuskewin Road, as well as in the 3500 block of Diefenbaker Drive. Members of the Collision Analyst Unit have been called to the scene on Diefenbaker Drive.
An update will be provided upon removal of restrictions or new information becoming known.
Members of the motoring public are reminded to reduce speeds, increase following distance, and allow for additional time to arrive at destinations.
