A 25 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges following an investigation into a report of a weapon overnight.
Patrol Officers were working west at approximately 11:30 p.m., Jun 26, 2024, when they witnessed two males. One male was standing next to a Jeep Cherokee, being driven by a second man. The two were in the rear of the buildings in the1500 block of 20th Street West. The male pedestrian was holding a sawed-off rifle and fled on foot when he saw the officers. The male driving the Jeep Cherokee also fled the scene, driving to the area of Avenue N South and 20th Street West before a successful traffic stop was made. The 25 year old male driver was arrested and found to be in possession of a machete, a pocket knife, methamphetamine and fentanyl. He was charged with; Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Carry Concealed Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The male with the firearm was not located.
