Two people were arrested on Saturday night in relation to an assault.

On June 29, 2024, while on Patrol, officers were informed of two individuals who had just bear sprayed someone near 22nd Street East and 4th Avenue North.

Officers were able to locate both suspects; however, they began to flee on foot. One male suspect was arrested without incident after a short foot chase and upon search of his person bear spray was located. The second male suspect began to physically fight officers, resulting in a conducted energy weapon being deployed before he was arrested.

As a result, a 19-year-old man is facing charges relating to assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and assaulting a peace officer. A 16-year-old male is also facing numerous weapons charges.
