Police are investigating following an armed break and enter in which a man was assaulted early this morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, July 12, 2024, police responded to a report of an armed break and enter in progress in the 70 block of Rupert Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned that three men armed with a firearm and bear spray had broken into the residence and assaulted the 22-year-old male victim at gunpoint prior to fleeing the scene; he sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result. A second man that had been inside the residence at the time of the break and enter was not physically injured. Following an article search by a police service dog (PSD), officers located and seized a discarded shotgun a short distance away.
