One man has been charged following an altercation that occurred early Wednesday morning.

At 9:47 a.m. on July 17, 2024, police received a report of man causing issues at a residence in the 1100 Block of Avenue D North.

Arriving officers located the man and informed him he needed to go to the hospital as per the Mental Health Act. A search of his person located a knife. During this process the man became physical with police. He grabbed a pair of scissors and began swinging them around. A conducted energy weapon (CEW) was deployed and the man was arrested.

The 23-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, and was found to have failed to comply with court ordered conditions.
