One woman is facing multiple charges after evading police Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on July 24, 2024, police received a report of a stolen van from a residence in the 800 block of Avenue P South. The van was later observed driving westbound on 15th Street West near Weldon Avenue.

As officers approached the vehicle it evaded. The driver proceeded through multiple intersections at high rates of speed. The van continued into a park in the 1600 block of Avenue P South. Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device and the van was stopped in the 1500 block of 16th Street West.

As a result, a 24-year-old woman has been charged with dangerous driving, theft under $5000, and evading police.
