A 13-year-old is facing a weapons charge in relation to a weapon call Thursday evening.
On August 7, 2024 at approximately 8:00 p.m. police were called to the intersection of Lorne Avenue and Taylor Street for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated two males were at the intersection and one was waving a firearm around.
Upon arrival, officers located two males matching the description of the suspects. Officers observed what appeared to be a firearm in one of the male’s possession; he was asked to drop it before being arrested. Upon further investigation it was found to be an imitation firearm.
As a result, a 13-year-old male is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace.
