The Saskatoon Police Service responded to several stabbings over the weekend.
On August 10, 2024 at approximately 12:10 a.m. police were called to the 100 block of Avenue Q North for a report of an injured person. Further information stated a male had been stabbed and the suspect fled the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located the male suffering from injuries consistent with a stab wound; he was transported to hospital where the injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. on August 10, 2024 police were called to the 500 block of Avenue X South for a report of an injured person. Further updated stated a male was bleeding outside of a building.
While en route, another report stated the man’s condition was deteriorating. Upon arrival, officers located the victim covered in blood, he stated he was assaulted with a machete. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the man to hospital with serious injuries.
At this time, it is believed the suspect and victim were known to each other.

On August 10, 2024 at approximately 6:50 a.m. police attended an injured person call in the 1800 block of 22nd Street West. Initial information stated a female had been assaulted.
Upon police arrival, officers located the female victim suffering from injuries consistent with a stab wound. While officers attended to the victim, other officers located the suspect in a building; the suspect then fled the building.
The victim was transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after, police heard screaming from a nearby parking lot, upon arrival, officers found the victim’s family member in a physical altercation with the suspect. The suspect was then arrested and as a result, a 14-year-old male is facing charges relating to aggravated assault, and breaching court ordered conditions.
Upon further investigation, it was found that another male was involved in the assault. A warrant has been issued for the 13-year-old male involved. He is also facing charges relating to aggravated assault, and breaching court ordered conditions.
The two males were also found to be the suspects in a separate assault from the same morning.

On August 11, 2024 at approximately 5:30 p.m. police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of a male who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male suffering from injuries consistent with a stab wound. The male was transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
After further investigation, officers obtained video evidence which helped with securing a description of the suspect.
Later that night, officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect. As a result, a 17-year-old male is facing charges relating to aggravated assault.
