The Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit is reminding motorists that this coming weekend is the annual ROCK 102 Show and Shine weekend. The show and shine portion of this event will be held on Sunday, August 18th, and there will be traffic restrictions in place in the downtown area for most of the day.

Typically, traffic and pedestrian volumes increase on 8th Street during the evening hours on this particular weekend; motorists using 8th Street are asked to be patient and cautious. The activities that take place on 8th Street are not part of any sanctioned event and all traffic laws, bylaws, and regulations will continue to be enforced with a zero-tolerance approach.

The Saskatoon Police Service, along with members from the Regina Police Service and RCMP, will be maintaining a high-profile presence on 8th Street, downtown, and in adjacent parking lots over the weekend to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety. Road restrictions will be put in place to facilitate a safer flow of traffic as required.
