One man was sent to hospital following a shooting late last night.

At around 11:30 p.m. on August 21, 2024, police responded to the 100 block of Avenue Q South for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located a 46-year-old man suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim reported to police that he had been outside an apartment building in the 1700 block of 22nd Street West when two unknown men approached him; following a brief confrontation with the men, the victim was shot and the suspects fled the scene. The victim then attended to an address in the 100 block of Avenue Q South where emergency services were called. He was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of his injuries.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
