Two people were taken to hospital Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle.
On September 2, 2024 at approximately 3:00 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Avenue S South in regard to an unknown problem. Initial information stated there was an altercation involving a knife.
Upon arrival, officers located a male laying in an alley suffering from serious injuries; he was transported to hospital for further treatment. The man told officers he had been hit by a vehicle.
Upon further investigation, officers learned another female was also driven to hospital after being hit by a vehicle; it is believed both were hit by the same vehicle in the same alley. A subsequent search of the alley resulted in officers locating a knife.
The driver of the vehicle attended to the SPS Service Centre where he was taken into custody and later released pending further investigation.
At this time, it is believed the victims and suspect were known to each other.
