One man is facing firearms charges after being found in possession of a firearm Friday afternoon.

On August 30, 2024 at approximately 4:50 p.m. police observed a wanted male sitting on a bike in the 900 Block of 22nd Street West.

Officers then attempted to arrest the man; however, he fled on bicycle. Shortly after, officers were able to arrest the man in an alley North of 22nd Street. Upon further investigation, officers located a backpack that the man had discarded; it contained a loaded firearm.

As a result, the 34-year-old man is facing several firearms charges, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
