A 17-year-old male from Sandy Bay was arrested on Sunday in relation to an assault.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. on September 8, 2024, police responded to an injured person call in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North.

Upon arrival, officers learned a 17-year-old male was suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing and was being treated by paramedics on scene. He was transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, officers believe the victim and suspect were known to each other. Officers later located and arrested the suspect and as a result, a 17-year-old male is facing charges relating to assault, and possession of a weapon.
