A Saskatoon man was arrested following a CO2 firearm being discharged Sunday night.
On September 8, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Riel Crescent for a weapons complaint. Further information stated someone had been shot at and the suspect had driven away.
While responding, officers received a description of the vehicle and license plate and were able to observe the vehicle on Clarence Avenue and Taylor Street East. Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Upon a search of the vehicle, a CO2 firearm was located, along with a can of bear spray, and open alcohol.
As a result, a 38-year-old man is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon (x2), assault (x2), mischief, impaired driving, and failure to comply with a peace officer demand without reasonable excuse.
It is believed the victim and suspect were known to each other.
