An 18-year-old Saskatoon male was arrested on Saturday in relation to two separate bear spray incidents
On September 14, 2024 at approximately 5:50 p.m. police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of an injured person. Call information stated someone bear sprayed numerous people.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrival; however, officers were able to review video surveillance of the incident.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. on the same day, police were called to the intersection of Preston Avenue North and 108th Street West for a report of an injured person. Information stated a male bear sprayed a city transit bus and fled the scene.
Shortly after, the male was located and arrested in a field along 108th Street West; upon search of his person, a can of bear spray was recovered.
As a result of these investigations, an 18-year-old male is facing charges relating to assault with a weapon (x3), possession of a weapon (x2), mischief (x2), and failure to comply with court ordered conditions.
