Two youth males have been arrested following the discharge of bear spray outside a mall yesterday.

At around 4:45 p.m. on December 16, 2024, police were called to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of bear spray being discharged near an entrance. The suspects involved in the incident were reported to have fled the area. While responding to the mall, a member of the Canine Unit observed two males matching the descriptions of the suspects in the 1000 block of 20th Street West; they were arrested without incident and found to be in possession of bear spray.

As a result, two males, age 13 and 16, have been charged with unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, assault, and mischief. The 16-year-old was also found to be in violation of court-imposed conditions.
