One youth male has been charged following an altercation at a mall yesterday.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on March 5, 2025, police were called to a mall in the 2300 block of Preston Avenue South for a report of an altercation involving several youths; one of which was believed to be in possession of a firearm. Upon police arrival, many of the youths had fled the area. Following continued investigation, officers attended to a school in the 1900 block of Preston Avenue South where they identified the youths involved and located an imitation firearm on one of their persons.

As a result, a 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon to commit an offence, and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon.
