Two people were arrested yesterday following a weapons call.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., April 3, 2025, Patrol members were called to the 1500 block of 20th Street West for a report of a man with a gun. Police located the suspect upon arrival. In his possession, a loaded, modified firearm was located and seized along with a can of bear spray, a knife and ammunition. He was arrested, along with a woman he was with, who was found to be in possession of a machete. A male victim was later located by Police, on scene. He had reportedly been robbed of his belongings and shot by the male suspect. He was assessed on scene and determined to have minor injuries.

A 21-year-old man is facing five firearms-related offences including Discharging a Firearm With Intent. He is also charged with Robbery, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Carry a Concealed Weapon.

An 18-year-old woman is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Breach of Conditions.
