Evade/Weapons/Drugs/Arrests - 3200 Block 33rd St. W

Two people were arrested yesterday morning, following an evade-police incident.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., April 6, 2025, Police observed a suspicious vehicle at 27th Street West and Avenue L North. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle parked at Confederation Drive and 33rd Street West and two occupants were observed exiting the vehicle. The passenger was arrested without incident but the driver fled on foot. A canine track led officers to the 3200 block of 33rd Street West where the suspect was located attempting to hide in between houses. He was successfully apprehended with the assistance of the Canine Unit and taken into custody. The paramedic in Detention assessed and treated the suspect’s minor injury caused by the dog bite.

The vehicle was found to have an unmatched licence plate and a small amount of cocaine inside. Police located a discarded bag believed to belong to the suspect during the foot pursuit. Inside, officers located cocaine, cash and bear spray.

The two 19-year-old men were both found to have outstanding warrants. The driver is charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police and Breach of Probation.
