Two people are facing charges after fleeing from police Sunday morning.

At approximately 4:15 a.m., April 27, 2025, police responded to the 10 block of Sturby Place after it was reported someone was attempting to steal a dirt bike before leaving in a white Mercedes Benz SUV. Patrol officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop however the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers observed the driver travel through a stop sign before striking a fire hydrant. The occupants exited the vehicle, and with the assistance of the SPS Air Support Unit, were located by patrol officers and taken into custody.

A 35-year-old female is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of Methamphetamine and breaching court-imposed conditions. A 27-year-old male is charged with Theft Over $5000 and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
