Arrest - Assault - Wardlow Road And Appleby Drive

A 15-year-old female has been charged following an assault on a city bus last night.

At around 10:00 p.m. on May 7, 2025, police were called to a stationary city bus in the area of Wardlow Road and Appleby Drive for a report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old female suffering from what were believed to be non-life-threatening stab wounds and cuts; she was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of her injuries. Further investigation found that an altercation between two groups of youth females had occurred prior to the stabbing. The suspects then fled from the bus. As officers were clearing from the scene, a female matching the description of one of the suspects was observed nearby; she was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of a knife and cannabis.

As a result, the 15-year-old female was charged with aggravated assault (x2), possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. Police are continuing to investigate.
