A man is facing charges after fleeing from police and colliding with a school over the weekend.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., May 10, 2025, patrol officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado truck in the area of Confederation Drive and Laurier Drive. The driver refused to stop before eventually pulling over on 22nd Street near Witney Avenue. Upon further investigation, the male was found to not have a valid driver's license and was in breach of court-imposed conditions. When he was advised of his arrest, the male started the vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed before striking a school in the 2500 block of 18th Street West.
A 39-year-old man is charged with Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop, Obstruction, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
