Two people have been charged following an investigation into bear spray being discharged.

At around 1:30 a.m. on March 27, 2025, police were called to an establishment in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West for a report of bear spray being discharged inside; the involved persons then fled. Upon arrival, officers viewed video evidence and found that a verbal confrontation had occurred between a man and a woman before they both produced and discharged bear spray at one another.

Through continued investigation, both the 25-year-old woman and 32-year-old man were identified and have been charged with mischief over $5000, assault with a weapon, and various weapons-related offences. The man was also found to be breaching court-imposed conditions.
