A youth male was arrested following a report of a person armed with a firearm yesterday.

Just before 4:00 p.m. on May 22, 2025, police were called to the 2200 block of Rusholme Road for a report of a person armed with a shotgun. Upon arrival, officers located the youth male and confirmed him to be in possession of a sawed-off shotgun; he refused to comply with officer commands while attempting to load the weapon. Following a struggle, he was taken into custody. He was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant at the time.

As a result, the 16-year-old male was charged with carrying a firearm in a careless manner, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon while prohibited, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions (x2).
