Assault P.O With A Weapon/Mischief/Arrest - 22nd St. E & 3rd Ave. S

One man is facing multiple charges following a mischief call, Saturday night.

At around 9:00 p.m., May 24, 2025, Police were notified of a man who had reportedly struck a vehicle with a crowbar at the intersection of 22nd Street East and 3rd Avenue South. The male suspect also reportedly assaulted the passenger of the vehicle with a modified weapon before fleeing. A Bike officer located the suspect a block away and believed the suspect was concealing a weapon prior to him fleeing on foot. Patrol officers relocated the suspect at Spadina Crescent East and 20th Street East. Upon confronting the suspect, he threw a glass jug at the Patrol Car, breaking the windshield before attempting to flee, again. The suspect was apprehended nearby with the use of a conducted energy weapon (CEW). As he continued to resist arrest, officers believe he was under the influence of an intoxicant.

On his person, Police located a crowbar and a sock filled with rocks. He was assessed by paramedics and medically cleared prior to being transported to SPS Detention. No members of the public or SPS were injured during this incident.

A 37-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer With a Weapon, Assault With a Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Break & Enter Tools, Mischief and Breach of Probation.
