Police are investigating after bear spray was discharged on a city bus Friday night.

At around 11:45 p.m. on June 6, 2025, police were called to the area of 15th Street West and Avenue K South for a report of bear spray being discharged on a stationary city bus. Upon arrival, officers learned that when the bus pulled over at a stop, a passenger inside attempted to rob another passenger of some property; when they were unsuccessful, the suspect produced and discharged a can of bear spray and fled on foot. Some passengers were treated by paramedics for the effects of bear spray as a result.

The suspect was not located but police are continuing to investigate.
