A woman is facing charges after assaulting a police officer with bear spray last night.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., June 12, 2025, police officers were in the 900 block of 22nd Street West when they observed an altercation involving bear spray among a large group of people outside a restaurant. When a police officer approached, a female fled on foot, during which she deployed bear spray in the direction of the officer. She was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

A 19-year-old female has been charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer, Possession of Weapon for Purpose of Committing an Offence, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
