Update - Collision - Traffic Restrictions Lifted - Circle Drive And Laurier Drive

Saskatoon Police have charged a driver in connection to a fatal traffic collision that occurred last summer. 

Police investigation determined that, at approximately 8:40 a.m., July 15, 2025, a 42-year-old woman was merging onto Circle Drive from 22nd Street West when she attempted to change lanes to take the Laurier Drive exit. While changing lanes, she struck a second vehicle which resulted in it striking a concrete support structure. The driver, a 73-year-old woman, was transported to hospital where she was succumbed to her injuries. The 14-year-old female passenger was also transported to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The 42-year-old female was arrested on January 15, 2026 and charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Death and Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm. (Court Info # 991327443).

Traffic restrictions at Circle Drive and Laurier Drive have been lifted following a two vehicle collision that occurred this morning.

Members of the Collision Analyst Unit were called to investigate the collision that resulted in the death of a 73 year old woman. The collision occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m., July 15, 2025 when a black Kia van merged onto Circle Drive and struck a white Buick SUV, which then struck a pole. A female driver in the van and a passenger in the SUV were not seriously injured.
