A youth is facing charges following several reported incidents of bear spray earlier this morning.

Shortly before 6:00 a.m., July 18, 2025, patrol officers responded to a report that a male had been bear sprayed in the 700 block of 7th Avenue North. While officers were investigating, they were flagged down by a person who stated a male dressed in all black deployed bear spray at their vehicle. Then, police were notified of a man armed with bear spray attempting to gain access to a residence in the 700 block of Duke Street. Police were able to locate a male matching the suspect description walking nearby and in possession of a can of bear spray.

A 17-year-old male is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (x2) and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
