Two men were arrested following a traffic stop yesterday afternoon.
At around 4:30 p.m. on July 23, 2025, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 23rd Street West and Avenue P North. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found the driver to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and he was subsequently arrested; a search of his person found what was believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl. A passenger of the vehicle was also observed to be holding what was believed to be methamphetamine and was arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a handgun and ammunition.
As a result, a 25-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with operating a conveyance while prohibited and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (x2) while a second 25-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with possession of a firearm without a license, careless transport of a firearm, knowingly occupying a motor vehicle in which there was a firearm without a registration, possession of a restricted firearm with readily accessible ammunition, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of a firearm while prohibited (x2), failure to comply with court-imposed conditions, and possession of a controlled substance.
