Members of the Serious Assault Unit are investigating an altercation which occurred yesterday, resulting in injuries to at least two people.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., January 2, 2025, Police were called to the rear of a building in the 600 block of 20th Street West. The caller had reported an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located a 39 year old man suffering from a serious injury. He was transported to Royal University Hospital for treatment. Initial investigation revealed that an altercation between several people involving a machete and a knife. Later in the day, officers attended to St. Paul's Hospital where a 45 year old man, also believed to have been involved in the incident, had sought treatment for serious injuries.
