A man is facing charges after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle last night.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m., August 11, 2025, officers observed a vehicle known to be stolen travelling on Avenue B N at 31st Street West. When they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled. The vehicle was located a few minutes later, abandoned, in an alley near 29th Street West and Avenue J North. A canine track located a female and a male hiding in two separate back yards.

The 50-year-old male, having been determined to be the driver, is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Prohibited Operation of a Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, breach of court-imposed conditions (x3). He was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries consistent with a dog bite before being taken to SPS Detention.

The female was later released without charges.
